Your molecule, from screen to report.
Most partners fly one to four wells: their formulation, a variant or two, and a known reference. The whole process takes about four months, and you decide whether to fly after the first six weeks.
One well, start to finish
Days counted from launch.
T−90
Ground screen
You send 50 mg and your current process. We run it on the ground under the flight's exact temperature profile and tell you whether we expect orbit to change anything.
T−45
Decision
You see the screen and decide. If you stop here, you pay for the screen only.

T−3
Loading
Your chemist loads the wells in our Adelaide cleanroom, or we load from a cold shipment. A ground control from the same batch starts the same hour.
T 0
Launch
Rideshare from Vandenberg. You get the launch time a week ahead and a message at separation.

T+1–12
Growth
A daily note with each well's temperature trace and any event. Nothing to do on your side.

T+13
Landing
Lake Hart at dawn. Cassette in a cold case within the hour, at the lab by evening.

T+14
First look
Polarized-light images of every well, flight next to ground control, the morning after landing.
T+21
Report
Size distribution, crystal form by XRPD, purity by HPLC, the full temperature log. Crystals ship cold the same week.
US$ 95,000
per well, per flight. One price for every molecule.
Included
- The ground screen and its report
- Loading, flight, recovery and cold transport
- A ground control from the same batch
- Imaging, size distribution, XRPD and HPLC on flight and control
- The temperature log from loading to lab
Not included
- Shipping your material to Adelaide
- Analysis beyond the report, which we quote separately
The ground screen alone is US$ 12,000 and is credited to the well if you fly.
Chain of custody
Each well is sealed in front of your chemist and gets a tamper seal with its own number. The cassette's logger records temperature every 10 seconds from loading until the lab opens it, and every handover, cleanroom to launch provider, recovery crew to driver, driver to lab, is signed by two people.
Flight material is for research and development. It is not made under GMP and must not go into patients. What you take from it is knowledge you then reproduce in your own validated process.
Every landing needs a return authorisation from the Australian Space Agency under the Space (Launches and Returns) Act 2018, and range clearance at Woomera. We hold both before a flight is booked.
Questions partners ask first
- What if the flight is delayed?
- Your well moves to the next launch window with the capsule. If the formulation will not keep that long, we reload it at our cost.
- What if the capsule is lost?
- You fly again on the next available capsule at no charge. We insure each capsule; you do not need your own policy.
- Who owns what comes back?
- You own the crystals, the data and anything you learn from them. We keep only the temperature and flight logs, without your molecule's name.
- Can you handle controlled or hazardous substances?
- Some. We need the safety data sheet at the screen stage, and launch providers have their own limits. Ask before sending anything.
- Do you work with academic groups?
- Yes. Two wells on every flight are held for university research at cost.
